About Green Building Products Initiative

The Initiative helps Pennsylvania companies seize opportunities offered by the emerging green building marketplace. We help companies develop new green products, find customers for green products and make green products more competitive.

The Initiative is the first program of its kind to target product manufacturers in the U.S. Our objectives:

• Grow Pennsylvania companies and increase their ability to compete in the green building marketplace
• Promote growth and create “green-collar” jobs through industry growth
• Retain Pennsylvania’s existing building product manufacturers
• Drive product innovation through industry-driven applied research and establish nationally recognized leadership in green product innovation
• Attract new investment dollars through business recruitment and startup
• Promote green market leadership
• Advance the adoption of green building practices

As part of our work, we co-founded The Pennsylvania Green Growth Partnership with Philadelphia University's Engineering and Design Institute in 2006. This strategic partnership furthers our efforts in solidifying and growing Pennsylvania's position as a national leader in the rapidly emerging green building marketplace.
